Wilson GM Cares About Stillwater, OK | Wilson Chevrolet

2021 Chevrolet Suburban | Stillwater, OK

Having been in business for over 30 years, Wilson GM is a well-established community fixture in Stillwater, Oklahoma. But our dealership hasn’t just been spending all of that time selling cars; we’ve also dedicated our time and money to give back to our local and national community.

Wilson Chevrolet has supported many charitable organizations and initiatives over the years. These include local operations like Wondertorium and Stillwater United Way, as well as nationwide and even international charities like the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. We are especially proud to support Wings of Hope, which utilizes aviation to help people with medical transportation and STEM education in the U.S. and overseas.

We look forward to serving you, whether with a new car, an oil change, or a helping hand through a charitable effort.

GM Reveals New Electronic Architecture for Future Designs

2020 Cadillac CT5 | Stillwater, OK

General Motors recently announced its new electronic architecture that’s set to operate in all future GM vehicles. Plans are to release the new digital “nervous system” in the 2020 Cadillac CT5 sedan, with a full global rollout by 2023.

The upgraded electronic system provides more processing power for the ongoing advancements in GM vehicles. As the manufacturer moves further into EV powertrain development, as well as continuing to make innovations in safety and connectivity features, the system isn’t just beneficial, but necessary. The new Super Cruise driver assist system alone will benefit from the increased processing rate of 4.5 terabytes per hour. That’s five times the processing power of the current electronic architecture.

“As the automotive industry and vehicles evolve in the next five to 10 years, more electrical bandwidth and connectivity will be needed to ensure that features like electric propulsion systems, the Super Cruise driver assistance feature and advanced active safety systems can all run in conjunction with each other,” GM stated in a press release.

Drivers will feel more connected as well with the Ethernet connection rates of 100Mbs, 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps. The faster connections will also aid in software updates that will provide longer functionality without the need for expensive upgrades.

Our team at Wilson GM is excited to see how this new technology will play out in the future for General Motors and our devoted customers.

Redesigned Silverado HD Coming in 2020

2019 Silverado HD | Wilson GM in Stillwater, OK

What To Expect

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was just redesigned for 2019. Now, it’s the Silverado HD’s turn. We will see a redesigned Silverado HD for the 2020 model year. This truck will be stronger and more capable than the current model and will come with advanced technology options.

One of the most impressive things about the new Silverado HD is its increased towing power. Engineers were able to squeeze an additional 52% of towing capability into the truck. It now boasts a maximum rating of 35,500 pounds.

New Features

Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer, Silverado HD, said, “We increased towing capabilities across the line, not just for dually buyers. We added class-leading towing technologies, such as 15 available camera views, to make trailering more convenient, whether pulling a large cargo trailer or fifth-wheel camper. And we made a host of changes to make tasks easier.”

There will be two new powertrain options. The standard engine will be a new 6.6-liter V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This is an 11 percent increase in horsepower and a 22 percent increase in torque, which translates to 18 percent more towing power. For even more power, there is the available Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 that generates 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.

New Report Indicates Plans to Introduce an All-New Chevy TrailBlazer

The SUV Takeover

Each year, SUVs and crossovers become increasingly popular with drivers looking for that perfect balance between versatility, efficiency, fun, and style. Of course, automakers have taken note, adding new and innovative SUVs and crossovers to their lineups. All of this has lead to a robust market of SUV and crossover options for customers, allowing drivers to find the perfect ride for their lifestyle. A new report from Motor Trend gives us good reason to believe that drivers are about to have one more excellent option in the form of an all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer.

New vs. Old

The out-of-production Chevrolet TrailBlazer stopped rolling off the production line back in 2009, but sources have indicated that the brand intends to revive the TrailBlazer name soon. While most particulars are a mystery for now, it seems clear that an all-new TrailBlazer—while reviving the nameplate—would be drastically different than the former TrailBlazer.

What The TrailBlazer Would Offer

Motor Trend suggests that the all-new TrailBlazer would slot somewhere between the Chevrolet Trax and the Chevrolet Equinox in both price and size, giving drivers greater flexibility when searching for the right combination of price point and driving experience. For now, we’ll have to eagerly await forthcoming details about what Chevrolet has in store for the return of the TrailBlazer name. When we do learn more, we here at Wilson GM will be happy to share it with you.

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Revealed

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD Revealed

The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD will launch later this year, but we won’t have to wait that long to see what’s new in the heavy-duty truck. Updated engines, a stylish look, and an all-new transmission help the Chevrolet Silverado HD make the jump to comfortable and capable like never before.

A bold new design makes the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD easy to spot on the road. A premium grille and tough horizontal lines give the truck an intimidating presence.

The design is certainly something to talk about, but the real story lies under the hood. An all-new direct-injected gas engine replaces the outgoing 6.0-liter V8 engine. The engine will come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 6.6-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel V8 engine continues to produce 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. The returning diesel engine comes mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission that maximizes capability.

According to General Motors, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD will feature higher payload and towing capacities compared to the outgoing model. New trailering technologies will likely mirror the systems currently found in the Silverado 1500. If so, drivers can expect trailer-theft alert, a backup hitch camera, and remote brake light check, all of which make driving the Chevrolet Silverado HD more convenient.

Aaron Wilson Makes $10k Donation to Stillwater Public Schools

Donation to Stillwater Public Schools

For decades, Chevrolet has found ways to show its support for its local communities and citizens who are dedicated to improving them. Public education is no doubt one of the most important factors for growth and development in any location. As a gesture of their support to the local Oklahoma schools, Chevrolet and the Wilson Auto Family were able to make a generous donation to Stillwater Public Schools.

Aaron Wilson, the president of Chevy Drives Oklahoma and a part of the Wilson Auto Family, announced the donation in a speech at an all-faculty meeting over the summer. It took a phone call to the regional office in Dallas, Texas to suggest that Chevrolet support the local Stillwater Public Schools. They say that “Chevy drives Oklahoma,” but when Chevrolet agreed to donate $10,000 to the Stillwater Public Schools, Wilson could proudly announce that #ChevyDrivesEducation. The Wilson Auto Family is so honored to be part of a movement that supports the local education.

Stillwater Public Schools are just one of many public school systems across the state of Oklahoma that will receive money as part of the #ChevyDrivesEducation program. In addition to its donations, Chevy also shows support to education by providing the most affordable prices possible through special discounts to educators.

Here at Wilson GM, we are proud to support those who work hard to educate our community.
