The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a subcompact SUV with angular, sporty style, exciting performance, and big capabilities. Equipped with tons of smart tech and plenty of cargo space, this agile little SUV is perfect for hitting the trails or driving in the city.
You might not expect it to be one of the safest vehicles on the road, too. But, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one of the leading experts in vehicle safety in the U.S., has named the 2022 Trailblazer a Top Safety Pick+.
The Top Safety Pick+ designation is reserved for vehicles who meet a range of crash test criteria. The IIHS tests crashworthiness in six categories, and a vehicle has to receive the top “Good” rating in all six. The headlights also get a rating and need at least an “Acceptable” score.
Finally, to earn the Plus rating, the IIHS tests the vehicle’s available front crash prevention technology. This category has to have at least an “Advanced” rating, with “Superior” being the highest.
The Trailblazer earned a “Good” rating for its headlights depending on the trim level and a “Superior” rating for its vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention tech. In fact, the Trailblazer comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, so its Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking feature and Front Pedestrian Braking are both standard.
Winter can be rough on your car’s battery, and it’s not the best time of year to be stranded with a car that won’t start. If you notice the following signs, you most likely need a new car battery. Head to Wilson Chevrolet ASAP to have your battery tested and replaced.
If it takes longer than it used to for the engine to turn over, it may be time to replace your battery. This is a sign that the parts of your battery are starting to degrade, and you might be dealing with a dead battery soon.
Keep an eye on the battery terminals and look for signs of corrosion. Battery acid can leak from the inside of the battery and cause the connectors to corrode, which interferes with the battery’s ability to send power to the engine.
Swollen battery case
High heat can make the case of the battery swell, so check to see if your battery case looks misshapen or swollen. If your battery case is damaged, it’s definitely time to have the battery replaced.
You should replace your car battery about every three to five years, depending on how often you drive and what kind of vehicle you have. Check your owner’s manual to see what the manufacturer recommends, and if your battery is more than three years old, consider having it tested.

But, drivers like you in Stillwater may want more than what the factory included in their family’s SUV, so Chevy offers many OEM-official Chevrolet Traverse accessories for you to upgrade your ride. Accessories for pet owners
Do you like to bring your dog along on walks at the park? Outfit your Chevrolet Traverse with pet-friendly accessories that protect your SUV’s interior from dog hair and nail scratches. Going on an exciting summer road trip? Before you head out, make sure your ride is ready for it so your vacation isn’t spoiled by a nasty repair bill. Follow these tips to get your Chevrolet as prepared to hit the road as it can be.
Check your car’s fluids
Your car has a lot of fluids, and while some are more crucial than others, they all play an important role. If it’s been a while since your last oil change, make sure to get that done before a summer road trip since your engine might overheat. You’ll also want to check the coolant and windshield fluid. If your brakes feel mushy and your steering isn’t responsive, you should schedule a service appointment to check the brake and power steering fluids as well.
Look at your car’s tires
Tires are some of the most important components of any car. They do a lot more than just get you rolling: they affect safety and fuel economy. If you want a nice, smooth ride on your summer road trip and don’t want to stop for gas every two hours, make sure that your tires are in good condition and properly inflated.
Handle general maintenance
Cars are full of interacting and important components that need general maintenance over time. Have a technician take a look at your brake pads, air filters, and any other areas you suspect may be due for a replacement.
For the best summer road trip and all-around car ownership experience, schedule a service appointment at Wilson Chevrolet in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where our factory-trained technicians will ensure your Chevy is ready for whatever you throw at it.
It can be stressful to find your next pre-owned vehicle, especially if you’ve never done so before. That’s why Wilson Chevrolet has assembled some handy tips to help you find the used Chevy model that’s right for you.
Know What You Want
Rather than going into the dealership blindly, it’s smart to have an idea of what you want and need in your next vehicle. Decide whether you want a family SUV, like the Chevy Equinox, or a capable truck, like the Silverado 1500.
Look In Your Wallet
Be sure to know what your budget and credit score is before you start searching for your next vehicle. This will help you narrow down your search and ensure you choose a vehicle that you can afford.
Take A Test Drive
Though a vehicle might look good online, you won’t know if you really love it until you get behind the wheel and take it for a spin. Be sure to test-drive any vehicle you’re interested in so you can find the pre-owned vehicle that makes you feel at home.
Review The History
Before making a purchase, check the vehicle history reports on used vehicles. These reports let you know what kind of preventative maintenance has been completed and whether or not the vehicle has been in any accidents.
If you’re currently looking for a used Chevy model, check out the vehicles we have at Wilson Chevrolet in Stillwater, Oklahoma, by viewing our inventory online.
Buying a used Chevrolet vehicle can be a smart choice if you’re shopping on a budget and want the peace of mind that comes with buying a Chevrolet. If you’re on the fence about buying a used Chevrolet, here are some more reasons why you should consider purchasing one from Wilson Chevrolet.
As soon as you drive a new car off the lot, it loses some of its value. However, if you choose to buy used, you won’t have to worry about taking a major depreciation hit as you leave the lot.
A used car has a lower price tag than a new one. This means that if you buy used you may be able to upgrade to a higher trim level of a Chevrolet vehicle without having to break your wallet.
Reduced Insurance Costs
On top of the initial savings of buying a used Chevrolet, you may also be able to save money when buying auto insurance. A used vehicle typically costs less to insure than a brand-new vehicle since a used vehicle has already depreciated.
When buying used, you are able to select from a wider variety of Chevrolet models than when buying new. If you have a certain Chevrolet-exclusive feature you want or a past model year you’re interested in, you can find it used.

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was just redesigned for 2019.
Now, it’s the Silverado HD’s turn. We will see a redesigned Silverado HD for
the 2020 model year. This truck will be stronger and more capable than the
current model and will come with advanced technology options.
One of the most impressive things about the new Silverado HD
is its increased towing power. Engineers were able to squeeze an additional 52%
of towing capability into the truck. It now boasts a maximum rating of 35,500
Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer, Silverado HD, said, “We increased towing capabilities across the line, not just for dually buyers. We added class-leading towing technologies, such as 15 available camera views, to make trailering more convenient, whether pulling a large cargo trailer or fifth-wheel camper. And we made a host of changes to make tasks easier.”
There will be two new powertrain options. The standard
engine will be a new 6.6-liter V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of
torque. This is an 11 percent increase in horsepower and a 22 percent increase
in torque, which translates to 18 percent more towing power. For even more
power, there is the available Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 that generates
445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
