Featuring a new powertrain, updated infotainment technology, and more distinctive looks, the 2020 GMC Acadia will go on sale later this year.

“The 2020 Acadia is stylish, functional, and capable with more of the smart convenience and connectivity features that customers rely on every day,” stated Duncan Aldred, Global GMC’s vice president. “And with GMC’s signature refinement at its core, the new Acadia advances the brand’s commitment to offering premium vehicles for discerning crossover customers.”

Horsepower & Technology

The 2020 Acadia will offer a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with tripower valvetrain technology that delivers 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The Acadia vehicle’s current 2.5-liter inline-four and 3.6-liter V6 engines will carry over as well. All of these engines will be paired with a brand-new nine-speed automatic transmission that features Electronic Precision Shift technology.

Also featured in the 2020 Acadia is an updated GMC infotainment system. Along with an 8-inch touch screen, this system will offer an easier-to-use interface; multiple personal profile settings for audio, navigation, and climate control; a new interface and real-time updates for the navigation system; and five USB ports throughout the cabin.

New Looks

The 2020 Acadia will have a bolder look, too. The grille, front and rear fascias, and C-shaped signature lighting are new, along with fresh 18-inch and 20-inch wheel designs. The new Acadia AT4 trim boasts sportier, more aggressive styling and dark accents.

The 2020 Acadia is expected to start rolling onto lots sometime in the fall, and we’re looking forward to welcoming it here at Wilson GM.

What To Expect

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was just redesigned for 2019. Now, it’s the Silverado HD’s turn. We will see a redesigned Silverado HD for the 2020 model year. This truck will be stronger and more capable than the current model and will come with advanced technology options.

One of the most impressive things about the new Silverado HD is its increased towing power. Engineers were able to squeeze an additional 52% of towing capability into the truck. It now boasts a maximum rating of 35,500 pounds.

New Features

Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer, Silverado HD, said, “We increased towing capabilities across the line, not just for dually buyers. We added class-leading towing technologies, such as 15 available camera views, to make trailering more convenient, whether pulling a large cargo trailer or fifth-wheel camper. And we made a host of changes to make tasks easier.”

There will be two new powertrain options. The standard engine will be a new 6.6-liter V8 rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. This is an 11 percent increase in horsepower and a 22 percent increase in torque, which translates to 18 percent more towing power. For even more power, there is the available Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 that generates 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
